However from my civilian (not in the military and never has been)point of view:

Why is it that "enemy" in this type of movie is alway's leaping behind 10-30 years in technology of weapon-systems???

And this is an fair question because all major weapons manufacturers are operating around the globe
The weapons the "friendlies" have, are almost the same as the ones the "enemies" have Neutral
