I believe occasional off topic wanderings are fine as long as there is interest in the off topic wanderings. If the off topic discussion becomes devisive or mean spirited then I think it would need to be ended. If a significant portion of the membership appears to be interested why not allow it to run it's course. If there appears to be a long term interest we may have discovered a subject for a new forum
