Germany AFV Registers
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

For example the various M4 Sherman, the German army did not use them
To my knowledge they started after WW2 with the M48, perhaps the M47

They had M47s and M41s too.

I can report some insignas (that doesn't necessarely matches the sources), in many cases they were hidden by the snow on outdoor vehicles:

BTR-152 URSS
Centurion CH
Chenillette Renault UE FR
Ferret both UK
G-13s: one with fake german camo. Another one still with swiss dark gray and swiss RN (78112), but with german cross
HS 30 Spz Lang DEU
M3 Half-track USA
M3 Scout Car USA
M3A3 USA
M4A1 USA
M4A3 Sherman Firefly Fancy yellow/black marking
M7 Priest DEU
M26A1 USA
M32 USA
M40 USA
M41 DEU
M48 USA
M59 USA
M74 Both USA
Pz 61 CH RN not visible anymore. Should be 77609
T-34-85 All URSS

You may want to check P-0 pictures for more

Thanks, Massimo

I could find this one
M4A3 Sherman Firefly Fancy yellow/black marking

After the war it has been used as "Feuerleit- und Beobachtungspanzer" (fire control and observation tank) on an military shooting range for live ammo

If I'm correct the gun has been removed and is replaced with bullet proof glass
The bright yellow/black marking was for protection
I thouhgt the British used on similar camouflage on vehicle's on live shooting range's in Canada

Michel

I can confirm the gun was removed. Anything else was pretty much covered by snow Evil or Very Mad

- private collection, not open for public
- in the collection an Panther ausf A (confirmed in 2004)
- there is an large private collection of modern art Mr. Green

- private collection, not open for public that's confirmed. I would also add that it is open to very very few people..
- in the collection an Panther ausf A (confirmed in 2004) that was confirmed in 2009 by a guy who personally knows Herr Flick (that means that the tank was still owned by Herr Flick in 2009). He did take a few photos of the tank, but I'm not allowed to show them to you. The owner don't want them to be publicly released.
- there is an large private collection of modern art Mr. Green don't know anything about this fact

Pierre-Olivier

I can provide pictures of the Flick Panthers if you want.

of course I'm interested in getting some recent ones, and other members of this forum would be glad too.
We also know the 'old' pictures taken in the 1980s, and are looking for recent ones (taken after 2004).
However, I'm not sure that Herr Flick agrees that pictures of his tank are published on the internet (that's what I heard from a guy who also have such pictures)..

best

Pierre-Olivier

I can send what I have to you, and then you can decide if you have seen it before and if you want to share.
