Korean Military Museum (Seoul)
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Just got back from Seoul, Korea. There were a number of tanks at the museum there. I took a ton of pictures, so if you are looking for any in particular let me know and I will download them here.

Ones I can think of were:
Shermans
M113
M577
M48
LVT3
LVT7
T34
M60
Korean version of the M1
some other apcs
M56
etc

Yes, please.

Just limit to 10 images per thread. If you have to start 10 threads to get-'r-done, that's fine.

Hey Armyjunk-

Thanks!!! You saved me a ton of trouble!! It is an awesome museum, isn't it?

I will post some of the ones Armyjunk didn't in the next few days. Got some good interior shots of some of the APCs, as well as a movie of the K-1 Korean MBT in action (the display includes moving tracks, spinning turret and elevating gun complete with all sounds. Pretty neat!

This is the museum, very impressive. I have sort of a funny story, while in Seoul we decided the Hotel was too expensive to eat in, so we went across the street, being very kool world travelers. We go into a small mom and pop place, order beef and something, plus a beer. 160 US dollars later we leave. The waitress did notice I was too dumb to use chop sticks so she fed me, that was nice.
I was amazed how nice Korea was, I thought it would look like a MASH TV show, then I remembered MASH was filmed in California. Those KIA dollars have made it very modern and nice.

Anyone wanting these pics without the name just ask.........I will no longer be putting names on them.

The flowers are a nice touch?

What's really amazing is it's pretty much in Downtown Seoul.

Now think about that and look at the B52 sitting on the grounds. I was in Korea when they opened it up. Just a short walk from Yongsan Military garrison, which from what I understand is no longer. Some very prime real estate there.

I thought it would look like a MASH TV show

A lot of the Western Corridor was still similar to that my first tour.

I have much admiration for the South Koreans. I watched this country modernize over a span of 12 years between 3 tours and two deployments. Every time I went back the changes were incredible. I hope to visit this country again sometime.

Joe we walked by Yongsan Military garrison, military guards there, but I just asked some directions. Do you think the US is gone from there? Its still listed as Lodging on the Army MWR site. I was thinking of staying there sometime...

The base is still there, and staffed with US personnel (other than at the main gates) Went on a tour of the DMZ with some Corps of Engineer guys that were staying there.
