Post subject: Firefox hanging.

Okay, regular fox users will know I'm not as enthusiastic about it as some.
But I have been using it alongside IE for a while anyway.
Recently it's been hanging every so often, particularly where a site is running scripts.
In its' current condition, it's almost completely unuseable.
I know this to be a problem because regular users keep telling me how good it is.

So, I've been on the hunt for possible cures.
I've been on lots of forums looking for these cures.
So many that I intend to post links to the more plausible solutions here, whether or not they actually solve my problem, to save anyone else the trouble if they're having to go through it too.

I'm using Win7 Prem (64-bit) and Firefox version 3.6.3. I've eliminate a possible conflict with Norton (indicated by some error messages) and now suspect it's somehow related to java scripts.
