Black and white pictures from the Pacific
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

The TV series is a great documentary. These old correspondent photos might also be of interest to some of the forum members.

Wow, that first pic really gives feel for the enormous size of the LVTs. I know that large vehicles have been kind of a theme for the Marines, but in my mind the early Amtracs seemed much smaller.

The only time I had seen them was in old newsreel footage.
The first picture does give me a better size perspective.
