The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

I was looking at the Fort Irwin web site. I noticed there is no 3/11 ACR listed. Has it always been this way or has the 3rd Squardon been deactivated? I also could not find a link to 221st Cav (Nevada Nat'l Guard). Are they still part of the 11th ACR? Also noticed they now have a 916th Support Brigade. Here's the 1-221 Cav - for a while they filled in as the only OPFOR while the 11th deployed... www.nv.ngb.army.mil/Army/221.cfm Neil

1/221st is currently deployed. They shipped not that long after 11th returned.

I wonder why the NTC web site does not include them?

OFF TOPIC~A couple days ago a Nye County (Nevada) Sheriff Deputy was shot to death. He had been back on duty only two days after returning from Iraq. He was with 1/221 Cav. He took three rounds from an SKS rifle all because a guy was having a fight with his girlfriend. Pretty sad state. The only good news is other deputies took out the gunman. No trial for that piece of s***!
