Thun SHP. The MBTs
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

So far pictures from "Sammlung Historische Panzer" proved quite popular, here you can see more MBTs, up to the Leo 2. All in running order and mind condition. The collection is not that large, and while is just a few hundreds meters away from the outdoor "Panzermuseum", isn't not too well-know, mostly because it's visible only upon request.

Massimo's latest AMX-13 pictures are now online:

UniqueID 826: Thun SHP AMX-13

It has taken a while as, like before, I've been researching the factories where AMX-13s were produced. Early models, like this, were built by ARE so there's a link to ARE. Later models were built by Creusot-Loire at Chalon-sur-Saône so I've also written up that factory (and the closely related Creusot-Loire factory at Le Creusot). Roughly half of each of the vehicle types based on the AMX-13 chassis were built by each factory. I've used this information to update and add factory links to each of the AMX-13 related vehicles in my initial Preserved French Tanks list (i.e. AA, ARV, APC and SP variants):

Preserved French Tanks

I've also learnt quite a bit about AMX-13s so I've reclassified the Swiss ones as Panzer 51 (so I can add more specific model information later) and reclassified other examples by model (75mm/90mm).

Now the Centurion:

Unique ID 824: Thun SHP Centurion

The prime factory was Elswick, already covered for the Vickers Model 1934, but I've also written up Barnbow as between them they cover the manufacturing of most Centurions, as much as I've been able to unpick so far:

This maybe an strange question, why is there an Leo 2 already in the museum Confused

This is the same type as the Schweizer Armee uses today: Leopard 2A4

Nice to know: Switzerland is after Germany the greatest user of Leopard 2 tanks (380 CHE - 408 DEU) Mr. Green

Many Leo 2s were put in reserve, since the amount of tank units was reduced, that's why one of them is already in the Museum.

Massimo, have you seen this Centurion (Unique ID 824: Thun SHP Centurion M78550) is up for sale?

I guess £24k is not bad since it's in running order. I'll go halves with you if you like.

I don't think the tank in the picture is the same offered for sale. The Centurion in Vernayaz is indeed Pz 55/60 M+78532

Then I guess they're using a picture of M78550 to try to sell M78532, which is misleading at best.
