Military Technical Museum / Vojenské Technické Muzeum Lešany
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

The Vojenské Technické Muzeum Lešany / Military Technical Museum Lesany (Czech Republick) is geting new vehicles to it's collection:

In last years it was the M47 Patton and Merkava.

Now two M36 Jacksons and a Sherman

There are tanks acquired from Greece: M48, M60A1 and Leopard 1 (with spaced armour)...
There are tanks acquired from Slovenia: 2x Sherman, 1x M36 (re engined probably)...
There is the Centurion Mark 9/2 from UK...
There is the newest acquisition from Jordan kingdom: the Khaled MBT (export variant of the Chieftain)...
More wheeled ex British vehicles: Daimler Ferret AC and Saracen APC...
I should not forget the Merkava 1 (stripped of all "secret" stuff)...

Have seen Culemeyer trailer and two rusty hulls of some (6?) wheeled modern vehicles in front of museum's workshop.

To Massimo Foti: Are you planning a trip to Lešany? I can recommend another museum worth a visit - Demarcation line museum in Rokycany.
Have to say photo conditions in Lešany are getting worse and worse. There are more exhibits but the space has not been inflated very much. That means not all vehicles can be photographed and some of them are literally invisible in the second row of tanks parked under ESO sheds. Lighting in the halls is not suitable for taking pictures and camera tripods are prohibited. There is a new hall for ballistic missile arty (Scud tracked and wheeled TELs, Scarab and Spider launchers, Luna and Frog, ATGM launchers both armoured and softskin), it provides unusual (over)views for visitors, but conditions are pretty cramped there. I can remember those days when it was pretty easy to make walkarounds of nearly all exhibited vehicles... Long time ago they have gone.

To Koluchiy: PzIV was restored only cosmetically and although she was in a running condition before, I do not think she is still a runner. That means the interior is nearly hollow and lots of interior parts are not original. Tank is part of enclosed diorama of battle of Ostrava and she is pretty off distance for visitors walking through "a trench"...

To Doug_Kibbey: That seems to be a Büssing chassis of some kind. Will try to obtain more details.

I've been in Lesany in 2001, and I love Praha. I will be back, but not anyday soon.
Rokycany looks tricky to reach without a car, but thanks for the suggestion anyway.
