Just as I said in the title. I'm trying to figure out how a gun shield is attached to the gun/mount. I used to use a M1919 rebored to 7.62 in the army but it had no shield. Just a vehicle mount pintle.

Specifically I'm looking to find how a BOX Shield was fitted to the mount. I'm one of those plastic modeller guys who is researching for a ongoing project. I believe the mounts were used by both the U.S. Marines as well as the British on LVTs during WW2.

I'm sure there has to be a manual somewhere on this type of shield, but i can't find it in Internet land.

Any help is really appreciated.

There is a US company named SARCO that has all kinds of machinegun parts and knowledge. Ask them.
