Neil - Russell Museum storage (M706s, XM1, etc) + misc
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Neil,

In addition to the gazillion M37 Dodge trucks he has in the storage area, I found some other cool stuff.

A 2nd M37 hull

The XM1 - couldn't get SN off skirts as they were all piled on top of the hull and kinda heavy!

VB,
Was there also a Half-Track inside, and an M114 in better condition?

Thanks,

Neil

Neil - Yep to both.

Didn't take a photo of the halftrack this trip, but here's one from 2008.

http://www.russellmilitarymuseum.com/arrivalhindtiltrotor.html

"The Russell Military Museum is proud to announce the arrival of two new display items. A Russian Mi-24 Hind Attack Helicopter and a Russian Mock-Up, Prototype Tilt-Rotor (VSTOL) Aircraft. These two extremely rare items were located at the now defunct CFC Air Power Museum near Austin, Texas. These vehicles and being prepped and assembled for display as we speak and will be ready for display by the end of the week. The museum needs your help identifying the tilt rotor aircraft. It is a fiberglass mock-up never meant for flight, and the museum is currently unable to trace the history of the unique item. If you have any information on it's possible origin please drop us an email "
