I've seen those wheels on soviet 37 and 45 mm guns. Maybe the gun isn't german?

It is getting better in time Wink

The first time I tried after your advice, was no good Shocked

It was at the ArmyCars,Zwijndrecht collection

Part of the building has an glass roof so daylight can get in

How ever the day before it had been snowing (this winter most snow in 14 years)

This gave an very strange "grey" light, and the camera did not get it
Picture's taken with flash turned out all to dark, the one's without flash to light (and shaken) Crying or Very sad

Good thing most events now are outside Mr. Green

Michel

edit: these last 3 picture's where taken with an small camera, not the EOS

I am always willing to discuss camera and photo techniques. It's a complex topic and I am not an expert, I try to learn as I go. If you would like to discuss more, open a new topic on the main forum. It could turn into something interesting.

While the subject has been raised, does anyone know where to find the gun numbers on PaK 40's? I did a walk-around of a pair in Cincinnati about a year or so ago and couldn't locate any, that I could tell.

I don't know if it are the numbers you are looking for

However at the PaK at the Overloon museum there are several numbers at the breech block

I do not know the right English names for it, so I hope you understand

To the left of the chamber "PJ" second line "1054"

However the line below the chamber with the red line is the interresting part

In the lower left corner some numbers, that I can not read from the picture
Then in the middle 2 line's above each other (the * mark an digit that can not be read, so 2 ** is 2 digits)
1st line "Bs.Fl.Gbb3 **d"
2nd line "M.Fl.4147 CZ"

However because I do not have an clear picture of the breech it could be that some of the digit should be something else
So the F could be an E

Visited the PAK43/41 L71 in Susteren today. It is located at the corner Raadhuisplein/Oude Rijksweg Noord (N 51 03.944 E 005 51.244)

No visible numbers on the gun. It is named ''Braun Ark'' On the inside/left of the gunshield is a black painted number ''187''.

It was one of the 3 AT-guns the Germans used in Susteren. The preserved gun was left behind in the vicinity of N 51 03.974 E005 51.313 (cafe Restaurant Bie Alois). Another gun was positioned near the Hoffmans Cross under 3 Olm trees and the 3rd was positioned in a grain mait in the open field

Some battle damage, also the barrel near the shield showed some damage by shrapnell(?)

These days I am digging Solothurn's 20 mm weapons. Do you have additional pictures and info about their usage by Dutch Army?

Are you sure the anti-tank version was S-18-100 instead of S-18-1000 or S-18-1100?
Do they used/tried anti-aircraft weapons from Solothurn too?
Looks like Solothurn send a bunch of weapons in spring 1940, but they were stopped during the travel in the USA since it was too late to deliver them and, in the end, they went back to Switzerland.

Zaloga mentioned US Army evaluated S-18-1000, but gave up on the idea. Wikipedia reports that too:
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/..._S-18/1000

I am curious to know if the US Army considered the weapons that were supposed to be delivered to the Netherlands or a more recent version.

Anyway, any additional info, either from the Netherlands or the USA is welcome.

If you have pictures from museums please contact me directly, I would love to get copies.
