The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Post subject: M48A3 (SN 358)
This is the restored M48A3 that has been on display in the Museum for many years.

It was a 69th Ar Bn tank in Vietnam. When the US Army withdrew from Vietnam, it was handed over to the ARVN. In 1975 it became the property of the communist government of the unified Vietnam. In the 90's, a private collector aquired this tank, had it restored and it was then given to the Patton Museum.

It will go to Ft Benning in the near future.

I hopped into the tank today and located several original data plates...
