M7 Priest - Survivors - Register
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Rafal,

I would be interested to work on such a register, but we already know that a lot of the Priests are in private collections. It would be probably better to split the PDF into 3 documents :
-M7 priest
-M7B1 Priest
-M7B2 Priest

The Sanford, NC Priest. I think I had a thread on this some time ago with more pics, or maybe they're in my gallery.

By the way, there is NO "Hamilton, Nebraska". I have looked. I even went to the point on Google Maps that listed a townsite for "Hamilton". No town, no M7. There is a Hamilton County, but I haven't hit all the towns in it to see if there is an M7.

P-O

About spliting the register I thing that would depend how big the register would be.

When I finish the work on the register I will of course send it to you.

Maybe in the time you could finish the work on Sexton (for now the register have 25 pages)

That M7B2 is at Camp Roberts:
Camp Roberts M7B2

The only armor at Camp SLO is a M3 Stuart and Type 97 tankette.

An M7B2 being rebuilt as a Kangaroo?!? There is a lot of work involved to rebuild an M7B2 into an M7. Mind you, an M7B2 without a gun is not a Priest Kangaroo. . . (but you knew that)

For those who are interested in Priest Kangaroos, see web.inter.nl.net/users...cr/m7.html and for a wartime description for "CONVERSION OF PRIEST TO TROOP CARRIER" go to my website: web.inter.nl.net/users...ckang2.htm

To fill some of the gaps

The one at the picture I posted before is not going to be rebuild to Kangaroo
This M7 most likely comes from an German shooting range, because at the other side of the vehicle there is an large number painted across "730"

An painting numbers on to AFV's most of the time means hard-target
Most likely the gun has been removed for spare parts

This M7 from Stadskanaal is one of the several M7 Priest that belonged to the collector from the Eindhoven location

Michel
