Type 59 or Type 69?
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

B8861091 is what it looks like to me. There doesn't seem to be any other marking on the vehicle besides the casting marks on the turret.

Guess you proved your own point. Can't tell because of the tarp on the first pic, but the second is a Type69. You can tell by the square gunner's site. The Type59 had a periscope like the one in front of the loaders position and not the square type site.


You have to be careful with the Type 59 turrets. The original production turrets didn't have the square type but the later Series 1, 2 & 3 turrets all did.
