Type 69 Detail
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Post subject: Type 69 Detail
After C Shermans thread on the Type 69 clarification, I too had a few unresolved questions.

The term 'Boom Shield Armor' which I now understand. The Type 69 has what I thought was a simple wrap around bustle rack. On closer inspection it is a well constructed rack to mount additional armor stand off protection. (duh,...why didn't I see that before...?!)




While having this 'epiphany' I noticed some vehicle markings that might interest some. They are located on the left front & side of the turret...






Not sure if anyone has seen these before, but for the interested,....I figured I'd post them.
