what is this thing? (Japanese?)
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Is it a Japanese tank or something?

I think it's the hull of a Medium Type 89B I-Go Otsu.

no, I think it is another vehicle. It doesn't look like a Type 89B I-Go Otsu hull.

I'd say it's a Type 94 Te-Ke Tankette hull, not 100% sure though.

It is rather a Type 97 Te-Ke hull. It seemed to be bigger on the photo, so I didn't have a look to the Japanese tankettes, but for sure we have an answer now. Thanks for the help !!

except that it is a Type 97, and not a Type 94.

opps, I was going off the 'Te Ke' name, forgot that it was a Type 97.

The hull lines seem to match. Especially the drivers 'doghouse'.

Thanks for the correction. My limited knowledge on Japanese vehicles only includes the Type 95 & Type 97 as these are the ones I have tinkered with a little bit.

Don

I'll go with that.
There's Ross Rockstad's restoration project here.
