M60s at Ft. Dix, NJ
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Hi,

OK, these may not be news, but here's what I found in December:

These first two flank the bleachers on the parade field, east of the intersection of Doughboy Loop and Orlando (the empty pads show on the Mapquest aerial view). I about froze my fingers off taking these, it was only about 14 degrees and the wind was coming up!

Serial No 2902A:

Serial No 2935A:

A little forensic re-assembly is required to decipher the serial #:

And then there is this odd looking gizmo, which seems common to the M60A3s on Dix:

Enough for this post...there's more!

Chuck

Chuck,

That Gizmo looks like some extravagant interrupter someone came up with to either keep the TC from elevating too high or to low, my money is on too high since the tank already has one for that. I find it interesting that the Range Finder Ballistic Blister was not reinstalled after the LRF was removed.
