Saumur
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

The Chinese Type 59 outside, is this the one with serial V9831143?

I can't answer the question, sorry. Maybe P-O can.

no, this one should have the SN B178457. Indeed, there is a Type 59 and a T-54B vey close to each other.

Perhaps because most museums don't like it when visitors start moving items around Wink

Unless I've got explicit permission, I don't move boards around and I don't climb on vehicles.

yes and the person was looking like I was offending him Shocked

However, I visited ArmyCars - Zwijndrecht in the periode it was still a museum
And because I know the people there and they know me, I got a private tour along the vehicle's and could do things and was shown items normal visitors can not do or will not see

So the things you are allowed to do, will depend on the factors if you know some people of the museum staf and how crowded the museum is with visitors

Michel

perhaps an idea to get back to the main subject: the Saumur AFV collection Confused

My experience matches Michel's 100%

In some special cases, in Schaffausen and Wildegg, I was allowed to climb over or enter inside tanks. But that's out of personal connections.
