T92 Moved?
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Hi Folks!

Fort Benning? I would not count on that without comfirmation.

Until the last BARC, Benning was home of the Infantry branch.

The T92 is artillery, I would think that if it was going anywhere it would be Fort Still Ok, home of the Artillery branch.

Just my two cents,
Sgt, Scouts Out!

Ossie

If it did move, it'll be Ft Sill or CMH storage. There is no interest in FA equipment at Ft Benning, to the best of my knowledge.

I'll ask the PAO that escorted me if it has moved.

What is more likely - and perhaps the origin of this rumor - is that the Ordance Museum's T92 may have been moved to Fort Lee... I wouldn't be surprised.

hi
a kind gent spoke to the historian at TACOM and said it had been moved . this is the reply .
moved to Fort Knox several years ago. The Patton Museum is in the process of moving all their tanks to Fort Benning, Georgia as part of the 2005 BRAC decision to relocate the US Army Armor School from Knox to Benning.
they say they have no record of it .

wonder if they are getting the T92 SPG mixed up with the T92 light Tank
i am trying to get some basic measurements of it so i can work off pictures i have from every one. so i can build it . its this years project

Unless I was seeing a hologram, the SPG was there on Friday. Sitting just inside the 11 mile gate just as it has for the last 10 years or so. Keeping the T30 company.

Ossie, Have you seen the T-92 photos at Life Magazine archives?

I agree that TACOM may be thinking of Ft Knox's T-92 Light Tank.

....T92??? Not at Ft Knox since at least 2001.

Perhaps he meant the T95? That makes more sense.
