New at the Ft Bliss Museum M113A3 APC!
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Hi Folks!

Another ex-White Sands Missile Range Target. Serial number is: MSJ16423.
This vehicle was running when the Museum received it. It has been setting out in the loading dock/garden shop area with the hatchs open
for a few months. The inside has been trashed sense it first arrived. Hopefully it will get moved inside sooner rather that later.

Hi,

M113A3? Are you sure it isn't an A1? The external fuel tanks on the rear are either missing or it's more likely an A1.

(The best way to tell for sure is a quick look at the interior. Fuel tank and battery box on either side of the door mean it's an A1, and sliding spall panels or the tracks for them would indicate an A3. Or you could check the data plate!)

Good catch Chuck! It's an A2 per the data plate! Forgot to look at my notes and posted that of the top of my head.

That was an alartness check! You pass the test!
