Just making sure you have seen this
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

I've been playing it in closed beta for quite a while (close to 2,000 games worth) and it's fun, within limits. It's an arcade game, with a fifteen minute time limit per game (15 tanks, arty and TD's per side, total). Rather like a combat flight simulator, but for ground vehicles (no infantry).

There's a 90 page thread on it over at Tank-Net.

Truth be told, I'm about to burn out on it, though (and that's while it's free). I know I'm not the only one. But it can be a nice little time waster.

There is a Russian T28, and it's said that an American T28 is in the cards. It's WWII and post-war era tanks...like up to 1960 right now. Whether it goes more modern has yet to be seen. American T-29, 30, 32 and 34(?) are already available. Many of the vehicles are prototypes that never saw service and in some case, never existed off of paper.

There is a definite bias inherent in many of the Russian vehicles, being as it's developers are from that part of the world. If I had it to do over again, I'd have worked the Russian line of vehicles for just that reason. (You "work" your way to different vehicles that you "buy" for game credits and experience after doing the "research" in-game).

I've played a few games myself and was quite impressed. It's technically very well done and looks good. However, in all the games I've played everyone can choose the nationality of their tank so you have, say, German and Russian tanks on one team fighting German and Russian tanks on the other team. That just winds me up, so I stopped playing!
