The first picture appears to be a diesel engine. No spark plug wires. Maybe an AVDS-1790-2 series. A=Air cooled, V=V shaped cylinder configuration, D=Diesel, S=Superturbocharged. 1,790 Cubic Inch displacement.

Is definitely a diesel engine of the AVDS-1790 family, more exactly the left view of a didactical cutaway.
At the rear of the engine, the left of the pic posted from Massimo, with a wider view we would have seen the right supercharger.

Thanks for the help Giacomo. Glad you like the pictures, I will post something more soon, they also have an italian artillery tractor, looks like a TM-40, but I am not 100% sure. Massimo

After September 1943 the areas around Foggia and Lecce were full of airbases, they were pretty busy places up to 1945. Massimo

At first glance you can spot a TM 48 (actually a FIAT labelled truck as SPA trademark disappeared in 1947) from the squared fenders, different tires size and rear ammunitons stowage.
