What is that ?
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Is that a M551

A Sheridan in Bergen, Norway :)?
www.flickr.com/photos/...539332173/

...or facsimile. Doesn't look quite right to me, but that's what it's intended to resemble.

The star on the rear is in WAY the wrong place, the headlight covers look funny, as do the hatches. Maybe a CONEX box will support nearly 17 tons, but it seems risky. The water barrier covers look entirely artificial (most rot away in the elements, and look black & white where neoprene and cord get exposed). I strongly suspect it was a model of some kind.

Sheridans do turn up in some unexpected places. like one in Latrun, Israel.

M733 or XM733
This is an appropriate question for the Marine Corps Mechanized Museum at Camp Pendleton?

Not really the differences between the M733 & XM733 are pretty straight forward...

There are a couple but I think the vast majority were sold to Taiwan.

What is the name of the first Chinese version of ZSU-57-2 that we can see on this page ?

mig29.egloos.com/1233245

The second and third are:
Type 80 - Chinese SPAAG. It has the same turret as the ZSU-57-2, but it is armed with the Type 59 twin anti-aircraft autocannon (a copy of the Soviet S-68), mounted on the chassis of a Chinese Type 69-II MBT.

Hi,

I spy, with my little eye...at least three (four?) different chassis under that one turret! There's definitely the Type 59/69 (can't see the rear of the second one, so can't be sure of type). The first (Type 69) seems to have Arabic or Sanskrit script on the turret side.

There also appears to be a shortened T54/55 (Type 59/69) hull, and what looks a lot like one of the more modern Chinese AFV chassis. No idea which one, though...
