Came up against these guys a couple of time (Tullius, Downs, Furstenau) in some local events, but factory sponsorship (and headers, and 12:1 pistons, and a weight loss of 300 lbs. tells....). They get 170 HP vs. the 120 I was able to tweak out of my basically street car (still up about 20). I had a '68, but put in the big valves from the '69 (which this is)

The GT6 body was basically the Spitfire Le Mans Coupe raced in the mid-'60's, but with the wonderfully smooth straight six from the Triumph Herald sedan instead of the four the Spits came with (thus the bubble in the hood).

This is one of Group 44's original racers. Completely restored. I'd cut off a finger with a rusty fish knife to have this car. If this makes you jealous, keep in mind that Tullius is an expert pilot and has owned T6 Texans and a P-51, among other toys.

Great vid! If you're a 'gear head' like I am, you'll appreciate the sound of the engine running. You can 'hear the cam' which for a gear head is a sweeeeeeeeet sound... Wink
