German Armor ID? (WW2)
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Actually it looks like a Stug III G rather than an F/8 .

I agree - it hasn't the box on the superstructure side, has steel top rollers and the drivers visor isn't correct for an F8.

Mark, do you have any information about this picture, beyond what's written on it? They've gone to a lot of trouble to recover a vehicle in wartime that clearly isn't obstructing the road. I wonder if it might have been being deliberately recovered for evaluation. However, it doesn't appear to match any of the obvious StuGs at APG, FK, etc. (particularly the steel return rollers).
