Mungo 2, new version...........
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

More details will follow...........this one looks like it has some form of demountable pallet system ala DROPS/PLS? Which makes some sense from a logistics role viewpoint.

It's the Utility Version of the original, more well known type..........

The basic vehicle is equipped with a built-in standard hydraulic system and can be fitted out with front-end accessories (cable winch, shovel, hydraulic hammer, etc.) and build-on modules, as is required for Variant 2.

A built-in high-performance hydraulic system powers the versatile lift and handling system and enables the vehicle to load and unload itself and other vehicles, as well as pick up and transport containers with kits for combat engineers. Front-mounted equipment, such as pallet lift fork, bulldozer blade, earth augur, etc. can be operated via a COTS quick-interchange system.

Modern combat vehicles for crisis reaction forces must be fast and uncomplicated for quick transport by air. They have also to be logistically simple to re-supply and become economical in use, a vital criteria in the armed services of today. The Mungo variant 2 with a two-tonne payload is a protected base vehicle with standard high-speed hydraulics and various applications and functions as necessary. If required the basic superstructure of the Mungo can be changed to utilise commercial implements quickly and efficiently as justified by the troops in a given situation, depending upon kind and size.

KMW state that their Mungo can be adapted in the shortest time to different requirements situations. The personnel transportation vehicle as variant one can be re-equipped within a short time for the combined person/materials handling or in a transporter configuration. The vehicle can be loaded from four sides and/or directions with standard Euro pallets and lattice boxes, with a useful and easily protected two-tonne payload in a compact space.
