2/11 ACR
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

I saw an M1A1 with a bumper number of "TF 2-11 ACR". Was this from OIF or possibly Desert Storm?

Hi Mark! Hi Folks!

My guess would be OIF.

It was during OIF that I first noticed 'TF' being used as part of a bumper marking.

Mark, don't forgot, the 11th ACR sent a unit to Iraq as did the 3rd Infantry Regiment, The Old Guard, from the Military District of Washington.

My 2 cents.
Sgt, Scouts Out!

One of the OIF rotations since the 11 ACR was still in Germany during Desert Storm.

As a member of the 11th ACR from 2002-2006 I can tell you they were deployed to Iraq from Jan 2005-2006. I had a friend in the 11th ACR during Desert Storm, stationed in Iraq. The 11th ACR was sent in as an "Occupation Force" after hostilities had "officially" ended. The unit was awarded combat patches but no CIB's, (Combat Infantry Badges).
