Willamette Valley Oregon
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Wow - that is covering a lot of ground. Sounds like you have the I-5 corridor pretty much covered. I live in Portland, and I can not think of one AFV offhand.

Ft Lewis about 2 hrs north of Portland has a nice collection they acquired from other closed posts over the last few years, if you can get in touch with the museum and have them sponsor you for a visit (can't get on post without a pre-arrangement like that).

When are you coming? How long?

I'll see if I can come up with something. I am sure there are some out there.

There is a Guard unit/armory that also has the Oregon Military Museum and they have a small collection of WWII era armor I believe. It is just south of Portland and right off I-5.

Hi Bob, Coming out on the 3rd of August, Oregon Military Museum is on our list and I'm mapping out VFW's, Legions and Court Houses. The reason for coming is nothing much shows up for that area, I don't know if that means nothing is there or just no one has listed it...we will see and its going to be a fun roadtrip as I've never been there. I have a friend the works at the Ft Lewis museum. thanks for responding

I lived in (Salem) and traveled/worked the area extensively at one time from the Rockies and I'm curious to see what turns up...I don't recall much for sure. Areas like Eugene are hardly bastions of military-heritage friendly populations, if you knowhutahmean.
