Have been on this site for a few years now and never realized there was an inbox??????,so if anyone has sent me a message I appologise,if anyone still needs a reply please let me know

Not to worry, Dennis, the Personal Message boxes are not automatically self-purging, so anything that's been sent to you should still be there. If someone sent you a message that was not being picked up, it might linger in their "outbox" long enough that they deleted it themselves.

Among those that don't use the feature much, or when it's important, it's also sometimes done to post to the person in the open in the forum to "check your PM's".

Lot's of handy features on Com-Central, if you look around. Wink

If you go to 'My Preferences' there is a menu there where you can set it to e-mail you of a new message and/or display a pop-up window when you have a new message.

You can't make the change yourself. Admins might be able to do that for you, or it might be necessary to re-register with the new one and have old account deleted. Send a PM to either Uhu Fledermaus or Shadow_Bshwhacker and ask them to help you with this. Wink

Emails submitted during registration process are just for spammer control, but if you want to use the feature of being notified when a PM arrives, you'll need to have it changed.

I tried to change my e-mail address but 'Master' Kibby found out it couldn't be done. So I had the old account delete. But then you lose your 'seniority'. Like 'member since' & 'total posts' etc. Crying or Very sad

Never mind, I found it also a long time after someone sended me some messages. So you're not the only one.

EMAIL NOTIFICATION OF PRIVATE MESSAGES:

Menu on left sidebar, go to "Member Options", "Your Account", "Configuration", "My Preferences" (clicking each along the way as you go). Third from bottom of the checkboxes listed on that page is "Notify on new Private Message by Email:"

Click it to "Yes".

Easy-Peasy, lemon squeasy.

On a related note, my "User Info-big" left-hand tab has disappeared when I look at the forum (it shows back up when I look at My Account). How do I get it back? Or is this an error?
