BTR-60 Question
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

In the area in red, when the hatches are open, is there ballistics glass underneath, or is the area open to the elements? Thanks, MK

As best I can tell there was glass there. I have a reprint of a BTR-60 TM and a diagram shows a vetrovoe stekpo under the bronevaa kryshka puka, whatever that means. KL

This is the "halved" BTR-60 at Parola (Don's might be also). You can clearly see reflections in the glass, which might also have a tint, but it's probably just different lighting outside the vehicle when I was using a flash).
