Correction to AFV register
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Post subject: Correction to AFV register
Had another appointment in Memphis so I drove down to Holly Springs MS when done.

Went looking for M60A3 2488A and found this girl instead Shocked .

M60

She's right in front of the VFW at the address listed by TACOM.

Serial Number 763

Registration number was painted below the driver's center periscope, I have no reason to doubt it's accuracy since all the markings are still original from when she was in service.

RN 9B3896

I talked with a local citizen and was told this tank was originally in front of the MS ARNG Armoury off of HWY 4 East. It was moved here about three years ago replacing a towed artillery piece. Said this tank sat in front of the Armoury for at least 15 years before being moved. There are no other tanks in Holly Springs besides this one.

Location: 34.751390, -89.452410

So where's M60A3 2488A and why isn't this one on the list Confused ?
