Post war marking of BAOR vehicle
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Post subject: Post war marking of BAOR vehicle

I would like to build (scale model of) Humber Scout Car as it was used by BAOR and Royal Military Police marking seems to be pretty interesting and unusual. I have found a couple of b/w pics in online archives but colours of marking still puzzle me.

Hope somebody would be able to say what were colours of marking of Humber Scout Car as photographed in Berlin near Brandenburger Torr in 1950.
My wild guess is that the circle could be RED on WHITE (simplified Berlin Garrison Badge) and the square could be BLACK on WHITE as traditional AoS colour of RMP. But colours of both circle and square seem to be pretty close to overall colour of vehicle (Deep Bronze Green probably). MILITARY POLICE sign seems to be RED on WHITE.
What makes me a bit confused is lettering above the square. No wild guess except of 247 Provost Coy may be...

Another vehicle I would like to build will be Humber conducting border patrols duty, sporting Berlin Garrison badge (in its full form) and black AoS with white 79 of 247 Provost Coy... I have found the pics of that vehicle in website: www.redcap70.net/
I tried to contact that lad running above mentioned website but have not received any reply...

That is why I am turning to you all with such request. Could anybody help?

TANKS in advance.
