Slovak National Uprising Museum, BANSKA BYSTRICA
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

I was in the neighbourhood, so had to make a few pictures of the armour they have.

PzKpfw 38(t)

StuG III Ausf G

Seems very low at the front, probably broken suspension.

PzKpfw IV Ausf J

Sd.Kfz. 250/1

Sd.Kfz. 251/1 Ausf D

OT-810

T-34/85

If anyone wants some more picture of them, just ask
Michel

According to this discussion: forum.valka.cz/viewtop...hsl/t/1863 and this post: forum.valka.cz/viewtop...367#113367
above mentioned PzKpfw 38(t) in Banská Bystrica is one of tanks not supplied to Slovak army via Wehrmacht but belonged to batch of vehicles marked as TNH-Sl (Sl for Slovakia) and was bought directly from BMM (ex ČKD)... These vehicles did match to Pz. Kpfw. 38 (t) Ausf. A-D series, except of wireless set vz. 35 (Mark 35) installation.
Original marking of this particular tank was ÚV 833 and number 75944.

Suspension (couple of front torsion bars) of StuG-III were "softened" by internal fire vehicle suffered at the end of active life.

Ok, I was on the track of the usual StuG "nosedive" explanation. When the engine is taken out the StuG series they get very front-heavy and will take a slight dive forward. Not near as much as on the StuG pictured though, the dive might be worsened by it though.

Though they (the vehicles) seem fairly intact, looks can be deceiving and it really pains me (as always) to see these vehicles outside in the open, decaying.

SdKfz 250/1 was part of open air exhibition of vehicles in the area of Dukla Pass. Because of poor condition of vehicle restoration was ordered...
Then somebody realised the group responsible for restoration was building ... ! ... SdKfz 250 "replica" made of mild steel to be able to sell original vehicle abroad... That was the reason "short Hakl" was moved to Banská Bystrica...

Unfortunately "magnetic people" are dangerous and fast...
For example here: www.modelforum.cz/down...&mode=view you can see them trying to unscrew the turret of T-34/85 Wink Although whole area was searched for AT/AP mines there are still lots of them in place... Mr. Green
