Semovente M 42 da 75/18. Bergamo
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Post subject: Semovente M 42 da 75/18. Bergamo
Here is another "Then and Now" good story. Today I went tank hunting in Bergamo (it's a good season for this kind of trips) to catch the Semovente.

The tank was sitting there, in the open, since 1959, with a very bad replica gun. Until now the few pictures available on the web show it in this pretty sad state:

Good news, it was restored by OTO Melara in 2007 and they added a kind of roof on top of it. It wasn't a full restoration, the fittings missing from the rear hull weren't added, but the replica gun was removed and replaced with a correct one. All in all it looks pretty well, definitely better than before. see pictures below:
