Help/Pictures Needed - Russell/Kenosha Military Museum
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Hi Neil, It was me that offered some old photos of some of the vehicles at Kenosha Military Museum, taken in 2001. I put them up on my Photobucket account, so if they are any use, please feel free to use any or all of them. I hope they can help fill in some gaps, but I understand completely if you get some more recent photos and don't need these. If you don't still have my Photobucket account link, just search for my name and you should get to them. I put several other albums up there that may also help.

This is what the museum staff told me is an XM1 hull, which they bought as scrap. It has been cut in half, vertically, from front to rear. I didn't realize that it would be difficult to see in the picture, since, in person it was actually quite obvious. The picture shows the front of the hull sitting just behind the rusty old floor safe. The drivers hatch is sitting in the open position on top of the right hand half of the hull, just above the safe. From there the gap between the 2 halves of the hull goes back through the drivers hatch opening and the turret ring. The 2 halves of the hull are leaning away from each other. I sure wish that the safe wasn't there as it would make it much easier to interpret, but there it is. I hope this helps. It would be interesting to know what the heck was used to slice an M1 hull in half like this.
