M26 Pershing New at Ft Bliss Nu 9
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Hi Folks!

Per the rear tow lugs, SN is 1232.
One thing I noticed is the mounting points for the A frame have been removed off the left side of the turret.

Look just to right of my head/hand, you will see a comb many of the Shermans that were shipped to the ETO.

I'm not sure the jib crane lugs were ever removed from turrets that had them, rather my guess is that they were never applied. The turret castings had flat spots cast-in to aid their location and welding.

I also found the serial number on the front upper slope just below the bow machine gun opening.
