Ram II ETT Lit (Evasive target tank)
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Hi folks

because of the sudden interest in the RAM II ETT Lit
I don't know the reason, still haven't figured out what caused it Confused Confused

However, instead of having 3 different topic's about it (the UK AFV register, Grizzly and Sexton Versions and the Netherlands AFV register) I thought it would be better to combine it to 1 topic

So I have uploaded some picture of the RAM that is at the Cavalry Museum at Amersfoort, The Netherlands
All picture where taken in 2007, when the vehicle was still outside
In 2009 it was moved inside, will upload some picture's of this also later

That's what I have for the Bovington ETT Lit :

RAM ETT Lit (Evasive Target Tank) – Bovington Tank Museum (UK)
Shop No. 1174, CT-159418 (www.ramtank.ca). This tank was part of a batch of forty-four Rams delivered to the Netherlands in 1947. At least two tanks from this batch were target training tanks. This particular one was stored for many years in a Netherlands Army depot, and was to be restored for the Liberation museum in Groesbeek by a British Army depot in Germany. It has finally been exchanged against the Canadian Grizzly tank now displayed in Groesbeek. This vehicle was at one time nicknamed "GIJS", a Dutch boy name (Michel Krauss and Hanno Spoelstra)

and for the Amersfoort one :

RAM ETT Lit (Evasive Target Tank) – Dutch Cavaleriemuseum, Amersfoort (Netherlands)
This tank was part of a batch of forty-four Rams delivered to the Netherlands in 1947. At least two tanks from this batch were target training tanks (Michel Krauss and Hanno Spoelstra)

I have uploaded the pciture's I have made in 2009

There about 60 picture's now in total

Among the picture's from 2007 is an picture which show's partly an serial number
It is on the middle section of the drive train housing, just above the cast numbers
Well actually they are below it, because the numbers are upside down Mr. Green

So I have rotated the picture 180 degrees

Just below the cast numbers, is hardle visible an 6 3 7 Neutral
On the RamTank.ca website are several options
- 40637 in oct 1944 to the British
- 40687 in july 1945 to the British
- 40887 in oct 1944 still on stock, it could be this tank

Checking will be hard, because they have repainted this part of the tank
The numbers are harder to read Sad
