off topic-- German artillery unit translation
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Post subject: off topic-- German artillery unit translation
I am wondering if any of our German comrades could translate a phrase for my friend. It is found on his great great grandfathers WW1 German artillery photograph(s). I dont have the photo to post.
"fur grinnerung an meine dienstzeit"

closest I know is "for ____ on my service"????? what is grinnerung?

oh do we still have an arty DG? I will see if I can get copies of the pics...
