Leopard 2A6 on the highway
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

The delicate dance of rubber track pads slipping ever so slightly as the tank turns is always intriguing!

It will be even more intriguing if they roll down your street Mr. Green

From the TC's attentiveness to the matter, severe penalties obviously attend any end connector damage to roadside surfaces. Wink

Last week, when driving to Leopoldsburg, I could still see the track marks on the roads. And also at the small roundabouts or narrow curves some roadside damage due to end connectors. Sometime it is not avoidable with all the small roads to prevent speeding etc.

But indeed, you want to keep the local population happy and avoid damage. Long time ago one of the companies took the wrong turn and ended up in a towncenter Laughing It was in several local newspapers.

Regards

You most emphatically want to do that when the curbs surround the Armor School at Ft. Knox. One of our crews (to whom normal post speed limits did not apply) forgot this principle and chewed some up pretty good during turns over there, resulting in what must have been a very unpleasant phone call over to the Armor Board.

The Armor School Commandant was then BG Patton, III. Shocked

I was ever so grateful that my vehicle was not involved. Wink
