Hi,

I may be wrong, but I think the drip rails on the turret indicate they are returned MAP vehicles, rebuilt by the Italians while in their service. I know there is one in Barstow like that.

Well, that would be consistent with say, every other known M47 in the US (being ex-Italian)...

The 47's there have rebuild tags from Italy on the right rear of the hull.

Well, that would be consistent with say, every other known M47 in the US (being ex-Italian)...

When I was a kid I used to visit a local barrack in Sicily during the annual open day. I asked myself what was the point of keeping around those aging M47s. Now I am happy the Italian Army kept them in service for so long Laughing
