Post subject: My old Joystick

has bit the dust. Crying or Very sad The ole Micro$oft sidewinder 2 which has seen me through many many battles in cfs 3 and tons of hours in a host of other flight sims, and a few drops on the floor, has bit the dust. (no elevator control and a constant left turn.........). Calibration has no effect

So I ask my friends here at Com-Central for advise on another joystick
Smile

I picked my FB2 up on ebay after M$ stopped makin' 'em.
Sadly unable to use it as I used to because the software won't run in Vista / Win7 and I (stupidly) made myself too dependent on using single buttons to fire off macro's running timed surface control instructions.
There's also folks who refuse to upgrade from it, doing their own repairs and advising others (if that's something you might consider).

Otherwise, 'realism' flight-simmers seem to be going for THIS nowadays.

Something else to consider is the possibility of X-Box / Wii type hand-motion controls which some bright-spark must be thinking of using on P.C. by now.
Not sure how they might deal with the large number of separate controls used in flight sim's, if they ever do, though.
Anyway, good luck.

R.I.P. the only thing M$ ever got right.

[edit]
Don't forget THESE too.

Ahh Bullet I feel bad for you bud..the loss of a Sidewinder2 is a sad day. I still have mine and it still works with all the notches from CFS2 and 3 and IL2 but as you, the day will eventually come where it packs it in and get's a royal burial. The Satek stick that Shades linked to will be the one that I get to replace the FF2.

My condolences on your loss and may the stick rest in peace.
