Post WWII Vehicle Photos
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Dug these up last week from one of my very full thumb-drives.

Cool is not the word. More like fascinating. I have never seen anything about the MAUS in terms of real photos or anything real at all. Any word on what caused that level of damage?

The Germans used self-destructive charges to blow them when they had to leave them behind

From the remains of various vehicles the Russians rebuild 1 example that is still present at Kubinka

Some info can be found here

More Maus, in British hands.

It's believed that the turret from the V2 example shown in the photos Dontos posted, was combined with the hull from the V1 to produce Kubinka's example.
The V1 had a ballast block, rather than a full turret.

This is the result, note the differing camoflage patterns. (Click on photos to open out)
Good album of these shots here news.webshots.com/albu...7193oyITjc
There's a series of photos showing a track-link being changed somewhere.
E-100, the Maus's cousin.

Loaded up, ready to be shipped to Bovington, then oblivion!

Sturmtiger captured in the Ardennes.

Sturmtiger (Same one as above??) & Bergpanther at Bovington. The Tiger's mortar is preserved, the rest (& Bergpanther) believed to have been used as range targets, before being scrapped.

Panther in Czech & British service.
