Browsing for stuff for a local trip for my summer break, I came across this Sherman by searching for "veterans" for Legion, VFW Posts and etc. It's not on the register, and it doesn't look like it could be another location misidentified.

I'll check it out as soon as I'm able; for now, anyone have any thoughts on ID/provenance?

My guess M4A3(75), almost all shermans in Ohio are M4A3's.

Tom Woboldt was telling me about this just last weekend. I did not have a chance to check it out coming home. Whoever gets there first, get the serial and casting info to ID it!

I visited this tank today and was pleasantly surprised to find that it was a direct vision M4A3, S/N 27_5, with about a 90% certainty that the third digit is a 6. I think why it didn't appear on any lists is that it is across a small lane from an abandoned National Guard armory. As you may recall, items still in Federal custody aren't on the list. I could imagine that at some point this was at the armory and was moved next door when the AmVets opened or the armory closed. The paperwork never caught up with the move, however. Just speculation.
