M48 in Muskegon MI
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Post subject: M48 in Muskegon MI
The other day I was in Muskegon MI and stopped by a VFW hall at 165 S Getty St. to look at a tank on display that someone told me about. What I found is an M48A1. Interestingly, it was missing the tension adjusting idler wheels below the rear drive sprocket that my books say should be there. Also, while the M48A5 is supposed to have five return rollers per side, this vehicle had three on one side and four on the other. The pictures were taken on my phone, so they are not great quality. Hopefully I can get some better pictures once the snow is gone. Most of the VFW halls in the area have M60 MBTs on display, so it was nice to find an early M48 on display.
