...no, really. 83 year old USAF Photo Recon Unit "flying sergeant" reviews his wartime Spitfire wheels up landing for first time during interview, with the descendents of the flight surgeon who took the 16mm film.

I wish there'd been a minute or two given over to rest of his career. He was a "mustang", an enlisted man who was later commissioned as a officer and retired in 1968 as a lieutenant colonel. I wonder how he spent that 23 years? He had time there to fly in two other wars, like Robin Olds, if he was still on flight status.

...and was married to Barbara Steinbeck. I wonder if she was kin to John, who hailed from that area and had attended school at Palo Alto.
