Hi All,

We’ve added a gallery of photos of the M4E9 on display at American Legion Post 235 in Fort Walton Beach, FL. The photos were shot during the freezing rain/sleet storm that hit along the I-10 corridor so we didn’t have a chance to do overheads - it was a strictly grab the umbrella and the camera and shoot as fast as one can before freezing to death. Couldn't find a SN but photographed what casting markings I could find.

Does anyone know the history of this vehicle? Was this a range wreck (hence the hit on the turret) or did this see combat during WWII? if so E9's deployed to ETO/PTO prior to VE/VJ have not been confirmed as far as I know.

Joe DeMarco told me that it came from the Elgin AFB. If it has the E9 suspension, then it has been rebuilt in 1945. I think that nothing is known of its pre-1945 history. P-O _________________ soldat_ryan @ hotmail.com Looking for photos of Sherman manufacturer's plates
