We are still many flights away from the end of our trip through the UK, but I thought we might need a little change and so I squeezed in a little Special, far away from Europe.
To really enjoy this flight you need Holger Sandman's fabulous "Tongass Fjords" scenery and a seaplane.
This is the story: Our company owns and operates a couple of cabins around the area, which are used by hunters and hikers. It is early spring and we are tasked to visit three of the cabins and check everything, do little repairs and stock up the supplies. Our Base is at Wrangell (68A, not PAWG), so we'll start from there. Our first stop is the cabin at Point Armagura. After finishing there we continue to Essowah Lake, do what we have to do and head towards Plotnikoff Lake, where we have so much work to do that we will stay there for the night.
For technical reasons beyond my abilities, the flight plan will start at PAWG, so do not answer "yes" when the FSX ask you to place the aircraft there. Rather, load the plan and then start the flight at 68A, select any dock you like. Select "Spring" in the settings, and real weather if it is VMC, otherwise we put it to nice weather.
Taking a Beaver or Twin Otter on floats should be enough speedwise, but a Goose would also be fine. I'm afraid the Catalina is a bit too slow and also too big for this flight!
Don't forget to switch FTX Central to North America, just in case...
See you all Sunday
