The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Post subject: Old Fort (Camp) Irwin pictures and poster...

Bear with me as I post these, I do not have a scanner so this was done with my digital camera, taking pictures on my kitchen counter. I recieved these pictures today in the mail from a Francis Blake from Fullerton, CA. He is a member of the Southern California MVPA. He is planning a trip here soon and I will make arrangements with the museum accordingly. Very interesting pictures for sure. However the last two pictures really caught my eye and I wish I had the funds and time to purchase it. Its a 1957 Chevy Pick-up that is ex-Army. Currently painted yellow because it belonged to a school district, the owner sanded down to the USA Reg number. Its all original except for the rims and hub caps. Note the California License plate, and its been kept current!!! The last blurry photo is of what the truck would have looked like when it served. It's for sale, with an asking price around $4,500. Going once, going twice, going three times.......
