There are some interesting photos of the RG-31 on the Canadian DND site below. Take a look at the grenade thrower mounted on the roof.

Any idea what make/model the Heavy Logistics Vehicle is? The Steyr licence-build?

Also where did they get the armoured cab from? Original Manufacturer, specialist Sub-supplier or what?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

It's actually the UTDC 24M32. UTDC was a Canadian company that
assembled the 24M32 vehicles from some Steyr Perepheron(spelling?) series parts and a MAN engine.

Cool

Hi J! Hi Folks!

That 'grenade thrower' looks a bit like the remote weapons station mounted on the Stryker M1126 ICV. However there is no weapon installed in it.

Confuzed! Confused

Now who's splitting hairs! Wink

It's actually PERCHERON.........the fact the engine is a MAN is irrelevant as one doesn't call FMTV's or any other truck a Caterpillar because they have one of their engines instead...............

All UTDC did was assemble the Kit basically..........what we British-born would call a Meccano Builder............

The Grenade Thrower looks like the KONGSBERG Protector system to me BUT it certainly doesn't have the barrel or apparently the weapon fitted................

A Canadian NYALA was blown up in an IED attack earlier this week. Two crew in a convoy taking ass and trash to a platoon house. The IED was detonated under the vehicle. The blast had to be a stack of AT mines because the damage looked much worse than a single charge did to a US "Cougar" in Iraq. All four wheels and the entire engine compartment were blown off. Two guys walked out. That blast probably would have completely obliterated a G Wagon and killed all on board.

The vehicle did its job; the crew survived.
